Help Wanted! Are you Scrambling to find Teachers?

Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11:00 am – 12:00 pm CDT

Ryan Moore, Ed.S., Coordinator of Talent Management and Organizational Development at Fulton County Schools in Atlanta, GA will present.

Fulton County Schools, a suburb of Atlanta Georgia is the 4th largest district in the state with over 90,000 students in 100 school campuses. The district is also one of the highest performing large districts in the country.

The district has a unique problem, within the Metro of Atlanta there are over 16 school districts all vying for the same teachers forcing salaries to increase and school choice for teachers. If a teacher is hired by Fulton County and placed in a school that is not desirable, the teacher will decline the position and take an offer from a neighboring school district. This has forced the school district to contend with over 100 vacancies annually in their schools.

Understanding this problem the HR department is thinking outside of the box and is investing in non-traditional methods to staff these positions, ensuring equal education for all students.

During this webinar, Ryan will discuss the problems facing the district and how they have started to turn the tide in their favor even with a decrease in teacher resumes coming across their desks. He will discuss how they put a strategy in place that includes District Administration and Principal buy in.
