What happens to teacher retention when schools focus on building the capacity and development of mentors? Our multi-layered approach to supporting new teachers utilizes a cadre model that provides four types of support. A systems approach to mentorship through mentor development can further build teacher leaders within a school district and better support the personal and professional well-being of new teachers to increase retention
