Addressing the Post-Pandemic Teacher Shortage: Challenges & Practical Solutions

Thursday, March 27 | 11:00am - 12:00pm CST

Presented by Dr. Alaaddin Akgul, School Principal, River City Science Acadmy Southeast in Jacksonville, FL

The post-pandemic world has intensified the teacher shortage crisis, exacerbating existing struggles in teacher pipelines due to rising living costs, increased certification barriers, bureaucratic challenges, and competing career opportunities. This presentation explores research-based strategies that have successfully addressed these issues, including alternative certification pathways, non-certified to certified transitions, and internship support programs for aspiring educators. Attendees will gain insights into the real challenges educator candidates face today and practical solutions to strengthen teacher recruitment and retention.

This webinar is FREE for members of AASPA and $25 for nonmembers.

Qualifies for 1 hour of continued education credit through SHRM, HRCI & pHCLE.
