Position Title:  Supervisor of Teacher Talent & Recruitment  

Pay Grade:  A-1

Period of Employment:  12 months

Supervised by and/or Reports to:  Executive Director of Human Resources

General Responsibilities: Develop and implement recruitment strategies that connect great educators and aspiring educators with division schools.  Partner with school leaders. Communicate the division’s culture, values, and offerings in a compelling way.

Essential Duties:

  • Takes responsibility for filling open requisitions, including sourcing, prescreening, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
  • Creates awesome experiences for all candidates from first point of contact and throughout the recruitment process
  • Works to fill all vacancies in a timely, cost-efficient manner with the most qualified candidates.
  • Sources candidates through various recruitment methods to include social media, networking, internet postings, colleges / universities, employee referrals, job fairs, etc.
  • Reviews and evaluates applications and resumes to select appropriate slate of candidates for interviews
  • Provides feedback and recommendations to hiring managers regarding candidates’ strengths and development needs.
  • Extends offers to candidates by explaining the total compensation package.
  • Participates in process development and process improvement teams and work proactively to expand the division’s recruiting sources and strategies.
  • Researches and co-implements alternative teaching pathways for the division.
  • Oversees and implements teacher employee recognition and events. 
  • Coordinates student teacher and intern placements of university students for school division.
  • Serves as a backup for employee relations investigations.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Possess recruiting experience.  
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to present facts and recommendations effectively using data
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management and candidates at all organizational levels, as well as external vendors and partners.
  • Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to efficiently and optimally evaluate and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and global mindset.
  • Demonstrated functional knowledge of computers and all aspects of Microsoft Office software and Google Suite.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to public school employment.

Requisite Education and Experience:

  • Must possess a Master’s Degree in Human Resources, education, public administration, or a related field preferred.  
  • Must possess a minimum of six years of experience in instruction, recruitment, or human resource management.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred. 
  • Public school teaching experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls.  Physically capable of effectively using and operating various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions required.
